Truckee Community Cares

For more than 25 years, our organization (formerly known as Truckee Community Christmas) in partnership with the Truckee community has been assisting our fellow community members during the holiday season. Our name epitomizes our mission - extending a hand of support to our community to ensure everyone can enjoy the holiday season – Truckee Community Cares!

We have in our midst families who are struggling financially, which makes the holidays a particularly difficult time. Truckee Community Cares is an all-volunteer non-profit that serves as an umbrella organization. We identify those in need, raise funds and work in collaboration with other community groups such as Soroptimist International of Truckee Donner and local faith organizations. Numerous local service clubs, businesses and individuals also support our cause. 

Because of the generosity of the Truckee community, we've been able to offer grocery store gift cards to our recipients, ensure that each child receives a toy or gift, and provide warm jackets for every member of the family. These gestures are always received with deep gratitude.

In 2022, we served approximately 250 families (totaling 1050 individuals), 90 seniors and 40 community members served through North Tahoe-Truckee Homeless Services.  Every year, the number of individuals we are able to assist grows, thanks to contributors like you.
