Sierra Watershed Education Partnerships (SWEP) is a small non-profit with a big mission to create a better world by educating and inspiring students to become lifelong stewards, future leaders, advocates, scientists, educators, change-makers, and environmentally conscientious world citizens in combating our Climate Crisis. 

This year, SWEP celebrates our 30th year of promoting stewardship in the Truckee-North Tahoe region, having empowered thousands of students to solve environmental challenges by making a positive difference within the local community, one project at a time, along the way.

What Your Donation Will Do

Your donation directly supports vital & relevant programming that provides hands-on experiential learning to over 4,000 TK-12 students in the North Tahoe-Truckee region annually. SWEP programming focuses on climate action and outdoor education, including sustainability, conservation, forest health, climate science, watershed health & restoration, environmental career pathways, zero waste initiatives, and methane reduction through organic waste diversion, which are concepts or components fundamental to a circular economy. Our outdoor, environmental and science-focused programming is brought to students through fieldwork opportunities that change with the seasons, as well as Sustainability Clubs that meet weekly throughout the school year. 

Your support makes it possible for us to continue to facilitate programs that integrate environmental science into real-world settings, fostering hope and empowering students to have a positive impact on our community and the planet.
