MusicWings

MusicWings is a 501(c)(3) music scholarship and music education organization. The mission of MusicWings is to enrich the lives of Truckee-Tahoe community members and to spread the joy of music through equitable access to music education programs. Our work includes providing scholarships for private music lessons, enhanced music programs in the schools, early childhood music classes, group piano lessons offered at no charge for students in need, and free public lectures and masterclasses about music in our world.

Music is essential to a well-rounded education. Learning to play an instrument gives students courage to do hard things. It’s connected to academic success and positive self-esteem. Music helps us become better listeners. It’s a language of theory, technical skill, and emotional expression. Music is laden with history. It offers perspectives on cultural values and ideas of belonging. Music is an invitation to think about our world differently, to make space for conversation, to blossom with creativity, and to connect with each other. MusicWings is committed to bringing music education to everyone.
